But also keep in mind that going from 20m to 6000m takes a long time and that it costs a lot of money. That is something that you would decide to do after you have a steady income set up and are decent sized.
To start you should make easy, high demand products such as expansion materials (besides steel): Stones and wood or basic materials such as: power and water.
After you make a steady income off of that, and can afford research, gas is a really good option. Gas is easy to make and is highly profitable.

Gas is a very reliable product and you make a lot out of it. I make 8,700,000 gas daily and make 650 million caps daily from it. A major set back though is that oil prices are getting really high now a days.
I made wood before I made gas. You should look into doing like I did, it worked out great. You just have to find a reliable oil supplier and gas purchaser.

Ok, thanks guys.

I don't understand how one can establsh which market you want to provide for. Obviously all players need raw material to produce goods, right? So doesn't that mean that people don't really purchase the end result?

For example, if I have a jewelery factory and produce diamond rings, who will purchase it? Is there even any demand or use for it once puchased? However, when I need to produce these diamond rings, I need certain raw materials, so to me it seems that only certain products/productions will be profitable or always in demand.

Is this correct?

I am currently producing wood and strawberries and have a grocery store which I am not using at all, so considering to sell that. I have 2 plants, a normal plantation and fruit plantation and using these for the wood and strawberries but I am not making money really.

What should I do?

Sell my grocery store??
Extend my plantation??
Not bother with the fruit plantation??
Hire more staff??

I'm not sure. Help will be appreciated!

To hire more staff you need to expand your buildings and always have maximum number of staff.

I would sell all the buildings and start making contest products. Put the extra cash into building materials (Steel, wood and stones) to avoid leveling. When you have enough cash jump into a market.

Gas and wardrobes are both very profitable but as jegsmoto says finding Oil is a pain. Leather Jackets, Electronics, jewelry and cabriolets make as much money but they are a lot harder. look around and see what you want to produce, as it is nearly impossible to lose money.

There are usually lots of buyers for the likes of wardrobes, gas, electronics, leater jackets etc. Unless you are in a less developed market like cabriolets you can nearly always find a buyer.

Extending your plantation would be good, make wood, cotton, corn or sugar cane. Wink

It may be useful to keep the fruit plantation, because you can make some Q10 Grapes. Very Happy They are needed for a quest and sell for more than 100 caps on the market. Wink

fruits are low profit.

at your level you should start with a basic product like wood, power, stones or water.

If you chose wood, you should have Cattle & Plant RC to level up your wood quality.

If you chose water, you should have Mine & Well RC to level up your oil quality, and when you'll have a nice quality, move into producing oil (which is more profitable then water).

Or
you can go with retailing buildings, like furniture stores, gas stations, groseries or jeweler.
thouse buildings sell products like dimond rings (jewler), gas or wardrobes to the 'kapi people' and make alot of money fast, but it is difficult to find good quality items to retail for good prices.

WRONG! Razz

Q10 Grapes sell for like 100-200 caps each because they are needed for a quest. Wink

That's even more than wood. Razz

I think cotton for textiles (and finally a leather jackets-production) can be very profitable.

This is one of those businesses many people ignore... and it is a pity because it is a very interesting branche of trade. There is no NPC for the entire products (like for wardrobes), you can have high margins in selling them in your stores or to others. Smile

Grapes are now much more profitable than wood because of the wine contest and their HUGE demand. Razz

Textiles are profitable but for some reason there is no investment. Also Textile Factories expand so slowly.

Thanks for all the response and advise guys!

The contests you're talking about, is that specific 'events' happening and companies compete against each other, i.e. the wine contest being mentioned - so companies would buy grapes to produce wine for the contest, etc.?

I am still not sure about which industry/sector to go into. At the moment I am producing wood, grapes, strawberries and cotton, depending on the demand for it. I guess I need to make some money first before deciding and expanding accordingly. Is that a good idea or is it better to decide which industry and then build up the company accordingly?
